“Congrats, Anja! Welcome to the real world!”
That was the last message I received from my classmate on our last day of graduation ceremony practice. I was very happy and excited, because finally, this chapter is over, and now I am on my way to the new adventure - to the Real World.
I spent 15 years going to school and study. Everyday,
I encountered lots of pressure doing my homeworks and projects. I am not that very hardworking, but I also went through sleepless nights and skipped meals to meet deadlines. And the most challenging moment of mine is that I was diagnosed for a lung disease, and I thought I would not be able to submit everything in time. Yes, it was a tough journey, but I managed to keep myself moving because I know that
when I accomplished those requirements, I will graduate, and finally, I can
get a job to earn money and to help my family.
But after all, it made me realized that it is not easy to find one.

I was very confident that I can easily find a job, but I faced
a lot of rejections when I started my job hunting. I spent a lot
of money (which I asked from my parents) for my transportation, food, and printing resumes. I asked myself, is this the real world? I almost lose hope. I thought being a degree holder would be enough to be hired easily, but I was wrong. One day I texted my friend and
asked for help. He only replied with a very short message – pray to God. It made me shout a little, saying “Yes! I forgot to ask the Lord for help and guidance.” I felt bad about it. Right away, I prayed
and talked to God. Everyday. With patience, I waited for almost 1 month, and finally, He
granted what I prayed for. I finally get hired.

Friends, my point from this experience of mine
is that, confidence and efforts are important, but not enough. You should also
have patience and faith to God. Talk to Him always, believe in His
power, and He will help and guide you always. Be patient and He will grant your
needs at the right place and at the right time. That is the one way ticket to the real world.
