Summer 2018: Manuel Uy Beach, Calatagan, Batangas

Just sharing our pictures, itinerary and helpful notes from our DIY trip to Manuel Uy Beach in Barangay Sta. Ana, Calatagan, Batangas.

We decided to go there on a weekday, expecting that there will be only few in the beach, but there were many people when we came. Hehe. But despite of that, the place wasn't crowded, so that's fine.

We left our house and started our travel at 6AM.

6:45AM - Arrived at Crossing Mendez, Tagaytay City. We bought some goodies at MiniStop while waiting for a bus.
8AM - Finally, the bus came. Fare: 80php per head, DLTB bus

9:10AM - Arrived at Calatagan Terminal/Public Market. Nasiraan pa kami ng bus on our way, kung kelan konting kembot na lang. Haha. We just waited for another bus. Ok, so from the said terminal/market, we rode a tricycle. Fare: 200php per takbo. So let say, you are in group of 4, 4/200php edi tig 50php kayo.
9:30AM - Arrived at Manuel Uy Beach. At the entrance, you have to pay the following:
>environmental fee: 30php per head
>entrance fee: 100php per head if day tour, 200php if overnight
>tent rental: 500php, good for 2

Upon entering the beach, a staff approached us to pitch our tent. We weren't charged for that. :)

We had our early lunch.

My sister bought Uncle John's fried chicken+rice and piattos. I bought wheat bread, cheese spread, and nova. Pa-sexy masyado tse XD

After eating, we went for a walk and took photos before going to swim.

Swimming time! :)

See those floating cottages? That is Stilts, a resort beside Manuel Uy Beach.

Sand: white and fine, a bit rocky dun sa shore.
Water: crystal clear.

We rest for a while and ate snacks...

then, we went swimming again - our last dip before packing up. :D

low tide na, halos 2ft na lang ang lalim.

We washed ourselves and started packing up at 2PM, and left the beach at 3:30PM. We rode a tricycle going back to Calatagan Terminal/Public Market: Fare: 200php per takbo

Some pahabol pics before leaving the beach.

4PM - Started travel going back to Tagaytay. Fare: 100php per head, Celyrosa bus, may  price increase, haha. On our way, we planned to have our dinner at Bag of Beans.
5:30PM - Arrived at Bag of Beans, Tagaytay.

My sister ordered tapsilog and iced caramel. I ordered bangussilog. Both are veeery delicious and with big serving, muntik ko nang di maubos! Bag of Beans didn't fail on my second visit here. (click ME to see my first visit in Bag of Beans)

selfie daw muna bago mapagalitan ni tatay. XD

8PM - Homie. :)

What we missed from our trip to Calatagan is to have pics with bougainvilleas. There are lots of that in Calatagan! Very beautiful and colorful! T_T I was shy to approach the tricycle driver to stop for a bit to have selfies with bougainvilleas.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
-Waiting for a bus from Crossing Mendez, Tagaytay to Calatagan, Batangas really takes time especially if you started your travel late, just like what we did. Better start the trip as early as 4AM.
-They have lutuan/ihawan area if you prefer cooking on the site. Walang bayad.

-They have CR/shower room. Wala rin bayad. Laging malinis yon, actually, yung buong Manuel Uy Beach, so please be responsible.

-There is a store available on the site, but they only sell instant goods like cup noodles and coffee, and water. Before heading to the beach, better buy your food already, since madadaanan niyo naman yung market.
-Loading and Charging station is available on the site. Nagpapahiram din sila ng mga kaldero at kawali, but limited. Hindi ko lang alam kung magkano.

-May boat ride papuntang starfish island (another thing that we missed from our trip to Calatagan). Hindi ko lang alam kung magkano.
-Walang ibang accommodation dun kundi tent lang. Pero may katabing resort sila (Stilts Beach Resort), which has room accommodations.
-Yung tent na ipo-provide sa inyo eh depende kung gaano kayo karami. Parang nagpapa-rent sila ng malaking tent na pangpamilya/big group, tables and chairs. Hindi ko lang alam kung magkano.
-Low tide starts at 2PM.
-Secured yung place (sa palagay ko), kase may mga lifeguards, may mga umiikot na staff, saka dinadalaw din ng kapulisan. Never heard any incidents na may nanakawan or nagkasakitan.

Thanks for reading guys! (^_^)v
